As of September 14, the army has mobilized more than 187,000 officers and soldiers from all branches and services in the entire force as well as hundreds of thousands of vehicles to participate in the work of preventing and overcoming the consequences of floods caused by storm No. 3.
Specifically, 187,374 officers and soldiers from Military Regions 1, 2, 3, 4; Capital Command, Navy, Army Corps 12, Coast Guard, Border Guard, Engineering, Information, and Engineering were mobilized to participate in responding to and overcoming the consequences of storm No.
As of 6 p.m. on September 14, forces and equipment had evacuated 96,336 households, equivalent to 374,743 people, to safety. Of these, 870 people were rescued.
Currently, the forces continue to carry out post-flood recovery activities, especially searching and rescuing missing victims, handing over bodies to localities, reinforcing dikes, organizing preparations to build a pontoon bridge to replace Phong Chau bridge and helping people harvest rice and crops...
Also according to the report from the Department of Rescue, General Staff, Ministry of National Defense mobilized and supported more than 100 tons of rice and 33 tons of dry food for people in provinces affected by storm No. 3.
Most recently, helicopters transported 4 tons of relief goods to the isolated provinces of Nguyen Binh district, Cao Bang.
As of 5pm on September 14, due to the impact of storm No. 3, 20/25 provinces and cities were submerged in water, causing heavy damage to people and property. In particular, 352 people were dead and missing.
