After passing the rigorous examination and screening rounds, in early 2025, Khoa officially joined the army, taking up his duties at Regiment 95 - a unit with a long tradition of being twice awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

Intelligent, agile, sociable, responsible, after the initial difficulties and confusion, Khoa quickly integrated and got used to the new environment, and was recognized and highly appreciated by his superiors and teammates. After a week of hard training, Khoa's joy was to talk and confide in his mother and sister over the phone.

The care and encouragement from the home front and family is a great spiritual motivation for him to constantly strive to fulfill his assigned tasks.

Before the “shooting festival” (session 14, kneeling and shooting with an AK submachine gun, target number 7, distance 100 m), hearing that his family was coming to visit, Khoa planned to give them a special gift, but was still undecided about what to choose. On the morning of April 10, after the crisp, accurate shots, on the top of Ha Lan Pass in the bright yellow sunlight, Khoa and the gunners of the same platoon were congratulated by Senior Lieutenant Pham Son Hai, Political Commissar of Company 2, who came down to congratulate them and pinned colorful flowers on their chests for their excellent shooting. The first award in his military career was cherished and treasured by Khoa.

From Quang Ngai, traveling nearly 500 kilometers to Dak Lak to visit her son. Seeing him more mature, strong, and resilient after two months in military school, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha - mother of Private Le Anh Khoa was very reassured and excited. The moment of reunion quickly passed. On a weekend afternoon, when preparing to see his mother and sister off to the car to return to his hometown, Khoa suddenly opened his backpack and took out his excellent shooting flower to give to his relatives. Proudly and emotionally, Ms. Ha shared: "Seeing my son strong, mature, living a disciplined life; a thoughtful and fulfilling material and spiritual life; a spacious and clean barracks... I feel very reassured. Feeling sorry for my mother and sister who have to travel so hard and spend a lot of money, from the allowance he saved, before saying goodbye, Khoa also slipped nearly 800,000 VND into my hand to buy bus tickets and eat along the way. I will keep this excellent shooting flower very carefully...".

On the night bus from Dak Lak to Quang Ngai, Ms. Ha held her son's special gift tightly in her arms. In the overwhelming joy, the journey home seemed shorter.
