Designer Vo Viet Chung launches collection "50 flower seasons"

The project "50 Flower Seasons" has the participation of Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau, Miss Grand Vietnam 2023 Le Hoang Phuong, Miss Ocean Vietnam 2023 Tran Thi Thu Uyen.

“50 seasons of flowers” is a metaphor for the 50 springs that Vietnam has gone through since peace was restored. Each Ao Dai not only evokes glorious memories, but also reflects the modern, fresh pace of life of a country that is constantly growing.

The highlight of this collection is the Lanh My A Silk material - a rare traditional fabric of Tan Chau region ( An Giang ), which was once on the verge of extinction but has now been revived and shined under the talented hands of Vo Viet Chung.

In this photo series, the original black color of Lanh My A is retained. On that black background, prominent colors such as white, red, pink, yellow, purple... are dotted through eye-catching motifs on the body of the shirt, creating a vivid visual effect. It is also the intersection between tradition and modernity, between historical depth and innovative spirit.

The shapes of the 12 designs still retain the inherent characteristics of the traditional ao dai, but are cleverly innovated to suit contemporary life.

In particular, the floral, leaf and bird motifs on the body of the shirt are hand-crafted with decorative painting, applique and hand embroidery techniques, creating a vivid 3D effect like flowers blooming on the fabric. The image is a metaphor for the gentle beauty, sophistication but resilience of Vietnamese women.

In 2006, designer Vo Viet Chung was awarded the title by UNESCO: "The person who has contributed to restoring and developing Lanh My A, preserving Vietnamese cultural traditions through the national ao dai". This is an important milestone that not only honors individual talent, but also opens up opportunities for the rebirth of a cultural and fashion icon.

In 2020, Vo Viet Chung was honored to be the first Vietnamese designer to be awarded the Third Class Labor Medal. He has won the Mai Vang Award for Outstanding Designer 5 times, was in the Top 10 Outstanding Designers in the world voted by the Leonard Simpson program (USA) in 2014, won the Outstanding International Designer and Outstanding Designer of the Year awards from Fashion Forward (USA) in 2016, along with many certificates of merit from the Government, Ministry of Culture - Sports - Tourism, Vietnam Women's Union, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee...
