Plan International brings solid classrooms to disadvantaged students in Quang Tri

On February 27, 2025, the People's Committee of Thuan Commune coordinated with Plan International Vietnam and a Japanese enterprise to organize the inauguration ceremony of Thuan 1 Primary School. The new school provides a safe and solid learning space for primary school students in a difficult area of ​​Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province.

Built with a total cost of 1.88 billion VND, Thuan 1 Primary School includes 03 solid classrooms, male and female toilets and a campus with many trees, meeting the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. In addition to the main funding from 1&D Holdings Japan, Plan International and Huong Hoa District People's Committee, the school also mobilized additional resources to equip tables, chairs, library cabinets, electric fans and decorative items, in order to bring a fully equipped learning environment for students.

After a construction period of 10 months (from April 2024 to February 2025), the project was completed on schedule and officially put into use. The new school will help 77 students from grades 1 to 4 have spacious classrooms, ending the situation of having to study together or study at communal houses in villages and hamlets. In particular, the project contributes to ensuring safety against natural disasters, storms and floods, helping children have more stable learning conditions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Tu - Vice Chairman of Huong Hoa District People's Committee said: "Thuan 1 Primary School is not only an important project contributing to the completion of educational facilities in Huong Hoa district, but above all, it is also a truly meaningful gift, a great source of encouragement for the collective of cadres, teachers, students and people living in Ban 1 village, Thuan commune, Huong Hoa district."

Sharing at the event, Mr. TokaJi Hiroshi - representative of 1&D Holdings Japan - emphasized: "We hope that the children will continue to study, play more with friends and create beautiful memories together at this school. At the same time, we also believe that the learning and playing experiences here will help the children nurture their dreams for a brighter and more brilliant future. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Plan International, the local government and people for their enthusiastic cooperation throughout the project implementation process."

After the inauguration ceremony, the delegation including 1&D Holdings Group, Plan International Japan, Plan International Vietnam and leaders of Huong Hoa district planted souvenir trees and signed a commitment to support the campaign calling for investment in education for children, especially promoting educational equality for girls. In the afternoon of the same day, the sponsor delegation continued to have a cultural exchange with the local community and organized fun activities for students at the school, contributing to creating more joy and motivation for the children.
