Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for "unity and unity" on May 29 after winning a narrow victory in the second round of the presidential election.
Speaking to supporters outside the Presidential Palace in the capital Ankara, Mr Erdogan stressed that the election was the "most important" event for Türkiye in the modern era.
"We should come together and unite. I call for this with all my heart," he urged. "Today... the entire country of 85 million people has won."
President Erdogan also pledged to carry out the project to build an international gas hub in Türkiye as previously proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I will further strengthen Türkiye's position by investing in the transport and energy sectors, which are the basic infrastructure for world-class development," he affirmed.
According to Mr. Erdogan, in President Putin's congratulatory message, the Russian leader mentioned the project to build an international gas center located in Thrace, northwestern Türkiye, near the border with Bulgaria.
Mr. Erdogan emphasized that Türkiye will carry out this project with Russia, Thrace will become such a center.
According to the Supreme Election Council of Türkiye, with 99.43% of the votes counted, incumbent President Erdogan won 52.14% of the votes, while his opponent Kemal Kilicdaroglu won 47.68% of the votes. Many world leaders sent their congratulations to Mr. Erdogan.
According to UN Secretary-General's spokesman Stephane Dujarric, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres congratulated Mr. Erdogan on his re-election and wished to further strengthen cooperation between the UN and Türkiye.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also congratulated Mr. Erdogan, emphasizing the current security cooperation between the two countries.
On Twitter, the British leader expressed his desire to continue strengthening cooperation between the UK and Türkiye, from developing trade to addressing security threats as allies in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also congratulated Mr. Erdogan, who has been trying to mediate in the Ukraine-Russia conflict, on his re-election as President of Türkiye.
On Twitter, Mr. Zelensky expressed his confidence in further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two sides, as well as promoting cooperation to contribute to stability and security for Europe.
