Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha participates in the Tet tree planting festival to commemorate Uncle Ho

Kinhtedothi - On February 7, at Yen Trung Lake Tourist Area (Uong Bi City), Quang Ninh Province held the Launching Ceremony of "Tree Planting Festival to Forever Remember Uncle Ho" Spring At Ty 2025.


Attending the launching ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan and leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; Government Office.

Following Uncle Ho's teaching: "Spring is the Tree Planting Festival - Making the country more and more Springy", Tree Planting Festival has become a festival of the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army; an activity with profound and substantial traditional meaning. At the same time, it demonstrates Vietnam's commitment to the international community and implements the national strategy on climate change, improving the quality of people's lives.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Pham Duc An, Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that in recent years, tree planting and afforestation work has been actively and synchronously implemented by local Party committees, authorities, and sectors at all levels with practical and effective solutions.

Quang Ninh is one of the leading provinces to issue a resolution of the Provincial Party Committee on sustainable forestry economic development, green development, and circularity. Every year, the whole province plants over 12,000 hectares of forest, in 2024 alone, over 14,000 hectares of forests of all kinds will be planted. Of which, there are over 800 hectares of large timber forests of ironwood, rosewood, and lat.

The Resolution on the province's tasks in 2025 has set the target of maintaining a forest cover rate of over 42% and improving forest quality, helping Quang Ninh's forest economy to quickly recover and develop. Accordingly, in 2025, Quang Ninh province strives to plant over 31,847 hectares of concentrated forests, including 2,724 hectares of protective forests; 29,123 hectares of production forests, 2.4 times higher than the 2024 forest planting target, demonstrating the province's high determination in developing and restoring forestry production after storm No. 3.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc An also affirmed that planting trees and forests is a practical and meaningful activity marking the beginning of a new year, a new spring, a new period of the country with the aspiration of the nation to rise up. During this period, the whole province strives to plant 1 million trees, equivalent to 1,000 hectares of concentrated forest.

At the launching ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, member of the Party Central Committee, presented Uong Bi City with 1,100 Caribbean pine trees.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister, delegates and people in Uong Bi City planted 1,100 pine trees in the pine forest area of ​​Yen Trung Lake.

To continue to effectively organize the movement "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho", the Deputy Prime Minister called on all agencies, units, localities, cadres, party members, and people to continue to enthusiastically participate in tree planting right from the first days of Spring; plant trees to restore and rebuild the forest area damaged by storm No. 3; strengthen forest management, care, and protection. Thereby, contributing significantly to sustainable socio-economic development associated with environmental protection, multiplying the green color of forests after heavy damage by storm No. 3.
