Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam received leaders of GWHF Organization

This morning, October 8, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam received a delegation of senior leaders of Golden West Humanitarian Foundation (GWHF/USA) led by Mr. Allan Vosburgh, President and CEO of GWHF, on the occasion of the delegation's visit and work in Quang Tri.

Mr. Allan Vosburgh thanked the attention of the leaders of Quang Tri province for creating favorable conditions for GWHF to successfully implement the cooperation program in the locality in the past time and bring practical results.

GWHF officially began cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Provincial Military Command in 2017 through the Project “Technical consultancy, training and cooperation in capacity building for the implementation of post-war explosive ordnance clearance”. The project aims to contribute to the clearance of land contaminated with bombs, mines and explosives; improve the living environment, contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality; and at the same time, reduce the risk of accidents caused by post-war explosives, protecting people's lives and property.

From 2022 to the end of 2024, GWHF will cooperate with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Education and Training to implement the project "Prevention of drowning for children in Quang Tri province" in Dong Ha city and Trieu Phong, Vinh Linh and Cam Lo districts.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam highly appreciated the activities of GWHF in Quang Tri province. The province has set a goal of becoming a province safe from bombs, mines and explosives by 2025, so he hopes that GWHF will continue to accompany the province to help achieve the set goal. Regarding the project "Prevention of drowning for children in Quang Tri province", he suggested that GWHF expand its activities to the remaining areas to contribute to the province in reducing drowning accidents for children.

GWHF is an American non-governmental organization founded in 1998, operating in Vietnam since 2007 in the field of supporting mine clearance and supporting children's education development in Hanoi, Quang Binh and Quang Tri.
