In her speech reviewing the event at the meeting, Secretary of the Hoai An District Party Committee Nguyen Dang Thi Thu Hoa emphasized: The victory of the 1972 Spring-Summer campaign, culminating in the Hoai An victory, marked a major turning point in the resistance war against the US to save the country of the army and people of our province in particular and Zone V in general. This victory created a solid base for the revolutionary movement, a springboard for liberating neighboring areas, opening up an important strategic area in the Central Central Delta, connecting the Central Coast and the Central Highlands, creating a position and force that contributed to the general offensive and uprising in the Spring of 1975, liberating Binh Dinh province, completely liberating the South, unifying the country, and leading the whole country to socialism.

“The Hoai An victory in 1972 was the result of a long process of fighting full of sacrifice and hardship, the result of the blood sacrifices and the great contributions of the people and soldiers in the district and of those from all over the country who had tasted the bitterness, fought and worked on the brave and resilient land of Hoai An; it was the skillful and creative application of the motto “2 legs, 3 prongs of attack” by the army and people in the district along with the close coordination of the heroic 3rd Golden Star Division,” said Ms. Hoa.

Promoting the glorious revolutionary tradition, since the liberation day until now, the Party Committee, government and people of Hoai An district are continuing to write the heroic history of their homeland, firmly protecting the revolutionary achievements that have been achieved, working hard and producing to build their homeland to develop more and more.

From a locality heavily devastated by war, Hoai An has made steady progress so that after 53 years of liberation, the district's economy has continuously developed; the economic structure has shifted in the right direction; the potential and advantages of the locality have been exploited well to comprehensively develop agriculture and forestry, gradually improving the productivity and quality of crops and livestock with the unique brand of Hoai An district. In particular, in the past 10 years, the district's economy has continuously grown. The total economic value from a modest level in previous years has now risen to over 6,466 billion VND in 2024; the average annual growth rate is over 10.53%.

Infrastructure has been invested and built synchronously, meeting development requirements; industry, trade - services, culture - society have made much progress; national defense - security have been strengthened; social order and safety have been maintained; the appearance of urban, rural and mountainous areas has improved. In particular, the national target program on new rural construction has achieved many remarkable results with 12 communes meeting new rural standards, 2 communes meeting advanced new rural standards. Average income per capita reached over 60.1 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate decreased by 3.22% annually...

Speaking on behalf of the provincial leaders at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh praised and warmly congratulated the Party Committee, government, army and people of Hoai An district on their achievements over the past 53 years. Proud and excited about the achievements in the past time, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that Hoai An district needs to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws in all areas. The immediate task is to merge commune-level administrative units, and eventually not organize district-level administrative units; to arrange the staff apparatus to ensure publicity, transparency, suitability, and capacity to meet the requirements of the tasks; to quickly stabilize the organization to put it into operation, without interrupting the implementation of political tasks.

Continue to exploit and promote the potentials and strengths of the locality in conjunction with mobilizing resources to develop the economy and invest in infrastructure construction. Focus on social security work, improve the quality of life for the people; especially, pay attention to and care for the lives of policy families and people with meritorious services; speed up the completion of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses according to the direction of the province...
