The project to support the development of linked production along the value chain of fragrant green squash products in Ba Be district is one of the activities under the Forest and Farm Support Program (FFF) Phase II of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Vietnam in Bac Kan province. The project is implemented by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union in coordination with the Nhung Luy Cooperative with a 3-year implementation period (2024 - 2026).

The participants in the association include 244 households in Yen Duong and Dia Linh communes growing fragrant green squash on an area of 40 hectares. Participating in the project, people are supported with technical training, application of production processes and quality management in a synchronous chain; financial support for the associated unit to provide 500,000 seedlings for the first cycle (first year) and fertilizer. The products are purchased by the cooperative according to the committed contract.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dinh, Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, suggested that after the project ends, at least 50% of poor and near-poor households participating in the project will escape poverty. At the same time, he emphasized: This project not only creates jobs, increases income, and improves the quality of life for local people, but also contributes to the formation of a specialized production area according to a sustainable value chain.../.
