Many people predict that in 2025, Vietnamese television dramas will continue to face difficulties. Therefore, since the beginning of the year, there have been changes from film studios to survive, attract audiences and advertise.
The Vietnamese film time slot on VTV3 at 8pm will change. There will be two films aired in a week, not just one like before. The Vietnamese film time slot at 7:30pm on HTV7 will promote the short series genre.
Renewing Vietnamese film schedule
Early March 2024, the movie We love each other peacefully launched with great fanfare. This is the opening film of the new Vietnamese film hour at 8pm on VTV3, from Monday to Friday every week. The special feature of the film shown in this time slot is that each episode is 30 minutes long.
After the movie We love each other peacefully (108 episodes), Walk in the bright sky (58 episodes), How much is youth? (55 episodes), Go to the sunny side (currently airing), this show is now being edited.
Specifically, from February 17, there will be 2 movies aired each week. The first two movies are My father stayed behind. (broadcast Monday through Wednesday) and Dusty Roads (Thursday to Friday).
According to VFC - the film production unit, the new time slot will reach a wider audience. The films have new themes, bringing many emotions to the audience. In the near future, VFC is planning to build a system, the film content will be different, hoping to create new flavors.
Shorten the number of episodes, aim for other platforms
Broadcast time frame TV series Vietnamese on HTV7 at 7:30 pm will soon have a "new look". The series airing during this time tends to have shorter episodes.
There are currently three film crews. Hello tomorrow, Test, Mrs. Ha's house is so happy is starting to recruit actors online until February 10. Then, from February 15, it will continue to recruit directly for those who pass the online round.
Mr. Vu Ngoc Ha - Director of Hoa Binh Film Studio, in cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City Television at this movie time - shared: "The film studio decided to produce short-episode movies because the current audience trend is towards consuming short and easy-to-follow content.
In a world where everyone is busy, they don't have much time and patience to watch 30-40 episode dramas. Producing short episodes makes it easier for the audience to access."
However, short series, besides its advantages, face difficulties because... the audience has not yet watched the first episode before it is already the last episode.
How to get more people to know about the movie and advertising is a difficult problem.
Talking about this, Mr. Ha said: "Of course we cannot be 100% confident at this stage, but we still have certain expectations. First, we not only value revenue from traditional TV channels, but also aim to exploit digital platforms.
With the rapid development of digital technology, we hope that the new content we produce will attract the attention of audiences on these platforms, creating additional sources of income. Our greatest expectation is to bring rich forms of entertainment to Vietnam market".
