Passengers wear oxygen masks in anxiety
Passengers on the flight shared on social media that about 30 minutes after takeoff, the plane suddenly shook and showed signs of losing altitude. A few minutes later, all the oxygen masks fell down in front of the passenger seats.
The chief flight attendant asked all passengers to put on their oxygen masks, fasten their seat belts, and keep their breathing tubes closed. While the flight attendant was reassuring everyone, the plane then continued to shake, causing many passengers to worry.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online reporter, a leader of Cam Ranh International Airport said that on the morning of August 20, flight VJ776 from Cam Ranh airport to Hanoi departed at 9:45. However, after taking off for 30 minutes, when reaching the airspace of Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh), the plane had to request to return to Cam Ranh airport due to technical reasons.

After the incident, the flight crew remained calm, quickly handled the situation, and brought the plane and all passengers back to Cam Ranh airport safely.
Just a technical problem
This person said the above incident occurred due to a fault in the plane's pressurization system, affecting the oxygen balance in the cabin.
The crew initially planned to land the plane in Da Nang, however, because it had not taken off for long, the plane turned back and landed at Cam Ranh airport. This was just a technical problem and was quickly controlled.
After landing, the plane was checked and the passengers were transferred to another flight to continue their journey. The airline announced a later departure time, but many passengers disagreed.
The airline then switched to operating flight number VNA685, announcing an earlier departure time of 1:30 p.m. on August 20. Most passengers then agreed to continue flying, while the rest were allowed to change routes, have their tickets refunded, or reserve their tickets.
The airline has sent an incident report to the Civil Aviation Authority and is awaiting verification results according to regulations.
Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , the leader of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam confirmed that the incident that occurred with the plane on flight VJ776 from Cam Ranh to Hanoi on the morning of August 20 was due to a malfunction in the pressurization system.
The pressurization system is not related to the safety system of the aircraft. This system has the function of supplying oxygen, balancing the pressure in the aircraft cabin. When the incident occurred, the oxygen masks dropped down for passengers to use.
Vietjet Air has reported the incident to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam. Although all passengers on the flight were safe, the Civil Aviation Authority has established an investigation team to assess the specific cause.
