On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with the Vietnamese community and Vietnamese students in China. Representatives of overseas Vietnamese also made a number of proposals and recommendations to continue developing the Vietnamese community in China, promoting the image of the country, helping overseas Vietnamese to best develop their abilities, and contribute more to the country and to the Vietnam-China relationship.

Sharing with overseas Vietnamese, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recalled the important milestone in the relationship between the two countries, which is the official visit to China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in November 2022, considered a historic visit, marking an important milestone in the relationship between the two countries, and strategic orientation for the coming time.

According to the Prime Minister, China is a large country, a neighboring country with a common border, "mountains connected to mountains, rivers connected to rivers", a traditional socialist friend and has close relations with Vietnam. The consistent policy of our Party and State is to always attach importance to maintaining and developing friendly and cooperative relations with the Party, State and people of China.

During this visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will hold talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang. This is an important occasion for the two sides to review the results of cooperation achieved in the past time, propose directions and tasks to consolidate and develop friendly and cooperative relations in the coming time, especially measures to expand and improve the effectiveness of cooperation in all fields, promote the removal of obstacles in cooperation, on the basis of sincerity, trust, efficiency and the spirit of "4 goods" - good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, good partners.

Creating conditions for overseas Vietnamese to integrate

Recalling the unforgettable days of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Prime Minister also said that China is one of the countries that supported Vietnam in purchasing the most vaccines, especially nearly 40 million doses in a very short time, before Vietnam decided to open its doors in October 2021.

During this visit, the Prime Minister will ask the Chinese side to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study, work, reside and actively integrate into the host society.

According to Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu, this visit to China is of great significance. This visit continues the tradition of high-level contacts and exchanges between the two countries, with the determination to develop this relationship to become more sustainable, stable and substantive.

This visit will focus on finding specific measures to promote economic and trade cooperation, especially the exchange of goods between the two countries' borders and between localities abroad, as well as finding ways to remove obstacles to promote the implementation of major infrastructure projects that remain between the two countries. At the same time, it will contribute to strengthening political trust, promoting the finding of solutions to different issues, including maritime issues, and enhancing exchanges between people and localities on both sides.

This morning (June 26), Chinese Premier Li Qiang will host an official welcoming ceremony for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. At noon the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation will take a high-speed train to Tianjin to attend the 14th Pioneers Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF Tianjin).

On June 26-27, the Prime Minister will attend important sessions of the WEF and have bilateral meetings on the sidelines with leaders of several countries attending the conference. On the afternoon of June 27, the Prime Minister will meet with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and several other Chinese leaders such as Chairman of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji and Chairman of the National People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning.
