According to information from the Department of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications), this discovery is part of the Vietnam network information security report for September 2024. In the past, NCSC has conducted a review of information security in cyberspace and recorded up to 125,338 fake website addresses of agencies and organizations. Of which, 31 fake brand websites were recorded to scam people on cyberspace, causing financial losses to people and creating concerns about network security.
In addition to detecting fake websites, the NCSC also reported on information security vulnerabilities. In September, the NCSC's technical monitoring system recorded 45,691 vulnerabilities in servers, workstations and information systems of government agencies. This shows the need to further enhance information security and safety measures.

In addition, the report also pointed out the increasing trend of ransomware attacks. A number of systems of agencies, organizations and businesses in Vietnam have become targets of attacks, leading to disruptions in operations and serious material damage.
Faced with this situation, the Department of Information Security has issued a warning about targeted attacks on important systems, in order to protect national information security.
In particular, NCSC has recorded 18 systems of units connected to botnet infrastructure, information about these botnets has been shared with units to increase vigilance. The Department of Information Security also recommends that units proactively review and upgrade their servers and workstations according to the indicators provided in the report.
The situation of connection and data sharing between local ministries and branches is also noteworthy. In the report, 87 units (including 63 provinces/cities and 24 ministries/branches) have deployed information security monitoring work and connected to share monitoring data with NCSC.
However, 13/87 units did not receive shared data, showing that there is a need for improvement in coordination and information sharing to ensure the security of the national information system.
Faced with the increasing situation of online fraud, the Department of Information Security calls on units to urgently and seriously implement the Prime Minister's regulations on data sharing, to ensure connectivity, safety and efficiency in the management and operation of the national information system.
