At 12:30 p.m. today (January 2), a pickup truck with Kon Tum province license plate, driven by a male driver, was traveling on the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay highway in the direction of Thu Duc City to Dong Nai.

About 4 km from Long Phuoc toll station (An Phu ward, Thu Duc city), the front of the truck suddenly caught fire.

The male driver quickly turned into the emergency lane and stopped the vehicle.

At the same time, many passersby came to help with mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire but were unsuccessful.

The fire quickly spread, engulfing the pickup truck, smoke billowing.

The highway management unit and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Thu Duc City Police quickly arrived to direct traffic and put out the fire.

About 30 minutes later, the fire was controlled but the pickup truck was burned down.

Due to the impact of the fire, traffic on the highway to Dong Nai was congested and vehicles moved slowly.
