On February 6, at the press conference on the socio-economic situation of Ho Chi Minh City, reporters raised questions related to the recent situation of some real estate companies holding conferences to introduce cheap housing in Ho Chi Minh City, but then taking customers to see land in Binh Duong and Dong Nai. Notably, they also affirmed that they cooperated with relevant departments.

Regarding the above issue, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said that according to Article 8 of the 2023 Law on Real Estate Business, prohibited acts in real estate business include: Real estate business that does not meet the conditions prescribed by the Law on Real Estate Business; Forging documents, intentionally falsifying information about real estate, real estate projects put into business; Fraud, deception, and fraud in real estate business. Violations of the above acts will be handled.

Organizing conferences to introduce or inform about the project, including inviting people to attend, is a civil matter between the parties. In case of violations of the above contents, people need to promptly provide information to the Department of Construction so that the Department Inspectorate can promptly review, check and handle according to its authority.

Representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction also warned people to be extremely alert, vigilant, and carefully check real estate information before deciding to participate in project introduction events.

According to the 2023 Law on Real Estate Business, when people sign a contract to buy or lease a future housing project, that housing project must have a written confirmation from the Department of Construction that it is eligible for business. The list of future housing projects eligible for business is publicly posted on the Department of Construction's website.
