According to the World Health Organization (WHO)'s "World Health Statistics 2023", the life expectancy of Japanese people is 84.3 years, ranking first in the world. To achieve this, in addition to healthy eating habits, culinary culture and a developed healthcare system, Japan is also a leading country in developing preventive medicine with a process of maintaining the habit of regular health check-ups.

In particular, clinical examination, combined with the advancement of diagnostic imaging technology, plays an important role in helping to screen and detect risks early from the "golden moment"; supporting doctors here to be able to provide timely monitoring and treatment methods.

As a leading expert in imaging technology, Fujifilm is a pioneer in developing medical devices integrating AI technology for healthcare activities in Japan.

The successful construction and implementation of a high-tech health screening center model called NURA with Fujifilm's advanced imaging diagnostic technology equipment in countries such as India, Mongolia and soon Vietnam, has contributed to improving the preventive healthcare system in Asian countries.

The first NURA center was established in Bengaluru in 2021 as a result of a long-term strategic partnership between Fujifilm and Dr Kutty's Healthcare, a prestigious healthcare system in India.

Located in the southern region of India, where economic growth is outstanding, especially in the field of information technology, NURA Center not only impresses with smart imaging technology equipment from Fujifilm, but also stands out in providing high-quality health examination service experiences according to Japanese standards.

This is considered Fujifilm's first step in the journey of bringing AI technology to the medical field to implement practical solutions to promote the screening, detection and timely health consultation process; playing an important role in preventing and improving the survival rate of cancer patients and other diseases in this country of a billion people.

From the first NURA centre in Bengaluru, there are now four NURA centres in India launched in Gurugram, Mumbai and Hyderabad; gradually changing and redefining the general perception of healthcare for the local people.

At the same time, the expansion of the NURA center model to Mongolia shows Fujifilm's expectations in the journey to bring positive changes in human health care with the humanitarian mission of "giving more smiles to the world" globally.

The success of NURA Centers in India and Mongolia has laid a solid foundation for the continued development and application of this model in many other countries, including Vietnam. In early 2024, Fujifilm Corporation and T-Matsuoka Japanese Medical Center signed an agreement to develop NURA in Vietnam.

Equipped with Fujifilm's advanced smart technology devices in healthcare such as CT scanners, AI-integrated mammography systems, biochemical testing systems and medical information technology (MeIT) solutions; combining AI technology with hundreds of databases collected over the past 10 years, NURA brings high-quality and fast screening processes to people for medical examination.

These superior technologies limit screening omissions, thereby supporting doctors in monitoring and treating common lifestyle diseases and cancers more accurately and effectively. The entire screening process at NURA for 10 types of cancer and 20 lifestyle diseases has been shortened to about 120 minutes.
