Recently, Nestlé Vietnam has cooperated with the Vietnam Women's Union to implement many activities to support women in economic development, to enhance women's economic power, promote gender equality and move towards sustainable development.
The above information was shared by Ms. Truong Thi Thu Thuy, Member of the Presidium, Head of the Family - Society Committee, Vietnam Women's Union, at a training session for press agencies on sustainable development: Creating positive social values through enhancing women's economic power. The program was organized by the Vietnam Women's Union in coordination with the Office of Business for Sustainable Development (under VCCI) and Nestlé Vietnam on December 5 in Soc Trang.
According to Ms. Thuy, the cooperation between the Vietnam Women's Union and Nestlé Vietnam through the program "Nestlé accompanies women" aims to improve knowledge, skills in accessing and applying digital technology, have more income to improve the quality of family life, enhance power, boldness, and confidence to contribute to realizing the criteria of the emulation movement "Building a new-age Vietnamese woman", the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's", "Family of 5 yes's, 3 clean's". In which, focusing on the criteria of the family "Having knowledge; Having health; Having sustainable livelihood".

According to Mr. Khuat Quang Hung, Director of External Relations and Communications (Nestlé Vietnam), with the approach of sharing common values, Nestlé Vietnam always links business development goals with the development and prosperity of the community.
"During nearly three decades of operation in Vietnam, we have made continuous efforts to promote women's empowerment, especially enhancing women's power throughout the value chain. Through the cooperation program with the Vietnam Women's Union, we want to create positive impacts on the lives and status of Vietnamese women, as well as contribute to the common goal of gender equality, promoting diversity, equality and inclusion in Vietnam," Mr. Hung shared.

Mr. Khuat Quang Hung, Director of External Relations and Communications, Nestlé Vietnam, shared about Nestlé's efforts to promote women's empowerment, especially women's empowerment.
Soc Trang is one of 18 provinces and cities participating in the initiative "Nestlé accompanies women". Ms. Tran Thi Kim Phuong, Vice President of the Women's Union of Soc Trang province, said: After the implementation period, Soc Trang currently has 45 communes/450 Nest women in 9 districts and towns in the province (an increase of 20 communes and 225 Nest women compared to 2023) participating in the program "Nestlé accompanies women".
Through the implementation of the program "Nestlé accompanies women", female cadres and members participating in the model "Sister Nest" and "Cooking with Maggi to build a career" have gained more knowledge about nutrition, about applying information technology and have the opportunity to approach and start a business, thereby having an additional source of stable income, on average each Sister Nest earns from 1,000,000 VND to 2,500,000 VND/month, contributing to improving the quality of life for members, women and people in the area.

Ms. Tran Thi Kim Phuong, Vice President of the Women's Union of Soc Trang province, shared about the positive impacts that the Nestlé Program accompanying women brings to local female union members.
"Thanks to the achieved results, in 2025, the Provincial Women's Union will direct all levels of the Union to continue to propagate and mobilize all levels of the Union to establish new Sister Nests; ensure the maintenance of the current number of Sister Nests; integrate Sister Nest's activities with the Union's work program and women's movements at the grassroots level, contributing to building a strong grassroots Union and increasingly improving the capacity of Union officials," said Ms. Tran Thi Kim Phuong.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Huy, Director of the Office of Business for Sustainable Development (VBCSD, under VCCI), the cooperation between Nestle and the Vietnam Women's Union through the Nestle Accompanying Women Program is a creative and effective cooperation program in the effort to enhance women's empowerment, gender equality, improve the quality of life, and contribute to realizing the country's sustainable development goals. Through participating in practical activities in the program, members and women have been equipped with more knowledge about nutrition, information technology applications and have had the opportunity to start a business, thereby contributing to increasing income, improving the quality of life, and contributing to the development of the local community in a healthy and sustainable direction.
The program "Nestlé accompanies women" was implemented by Nestlé Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnam Women's Union from December 2020 for a 3-year period (2020-2022) and continued to be signed in November 2022 for a 5-year period (2022-2027). The program is currently being implemented in 18 provinces and cities across the country, aiming to improve knowledge, skills and create livelihoods for women, contributing to building Vietnamese women of the new era.
To date, the Program has recorded 21,750 women participating in training on nutrition and health safety knowledge with 1,840 livelihood models established and maintained. Accordingly, about 1.7 million households have accessed and benefited from the Program.
