In the province, there are currently 38 foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises that have established trade unions. In recent years, the quality of trade union activities in the FDI sector has been gradually improved, and the role of trade unions has been increasingly affirmed through specific and practical activities to care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.

Aleron Shoes Vietnam Co., Ltd. is a 100% Taiwanese-invested enterprise specializing in manufacturing and processing footwear for export. In 2011, the local trade union was established just 6 months after the company began operating. Currently, all of the company's 7,400 employees are union members.
Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Aleron Shoes Vietnam Co., Ltd. Vu Thi Mai Loan said: "When it first started, the Trade Union faced many difficulties because the business owner was a foreigner, and the culture and language were different. In addition, the union executive board was young and inexperienced, so advising the company's management as well as mobilizing workers to participate in union activities still faced many obstacles."
With the motto of operating the trade union for the benefit of union members, taking the interests of employees as the focus of its activities, the Trade Union of Aleron Shoes Vietnam Co., Ltd. is the first enterprise-level trade union in Thanh Hoa province to launch the 3V model "For workers, for trade union organizations, for the sustainable development of enterprises". The trade union participates with enterprises to amend labor regulations in accordance with current laws and the production situation of enterprises based on the aspirations of employees; improve the quantity and quality of negotiations, signing and monitoring the implementation of collective labor agreements; improve the quality of labor conferences; strengthen dialogue and negotiation so that employees can best enjoy the welfare regimes in the enterprise... Thereby, contributing to innovating the content and methods of operation of the trade union towards meeting the needs and aspirations of union members and employees, meeting the requirements of the trade union organization in the new situation.
As one of the foreign-invested enterprises that implements well the policies and regimes for employees, Sunjade Vietnam Shoes Company Limited currently creates jobs for over 8,000 employees. Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Sunjade Vietnam Shoes Company Limited Nguyen Thi Ai said: The Trade Union of Sunjade Vietnam Shoes Company Limited coordinates with the company to regularly organize dialogues at the workplace to promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of employees to prevent collective work stoppages or illegal strikes. Negotiate with the employer to sign a collective labor agreement with many provisions more favorable than the law for employees. Specifically, the company increases the lowest seniority salary from 80,000 VND/month to 150,000 VND/month, the highest from 250,000 VND/month to 800,000 VND/month; Increase the position allowance for direct staff from the lowest level of 60,000 VND/month to 300,000 VND/month, the highest level from 6,000,000 VND/month to 7,100,000 VND/month; support for gasoline 15,000 VND/person/day, meals 20,000 VND/person/meal...
Currently, 38 FDI enterprises have trade unions providing jobs for over 171,000 workers with an average income of VND 7,859,000/person/month. Promoting the role of a "bridge" between employees and enterprises, the role and voice of trade unions in FDI enterprises are increasingly affirmed. The Executive Board of Trade Unions of FDI enterprises has coordinated with the Board of Directors of enterprises to build salary scales and collective labor agreements in a direction that is more beneficial to employees than the provisions of law; organize good direct dialogues at the workplace to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of employees, thereby promptly resolving problems and recommendations arising in labor relations, ensuring the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees. At the same time, trade unions promote emulation movements "Good workers, creative workers", promote initiatives and technical improvements; Regularly organize sharing activities and support employees in difficult circumstances, thereby motivating employees to overcome all difficulties and complete assigned tasks well.
Thanks to the effective promotion of the role of trade unions, up to now, 100% of FDI enterprises have paid salaries, meal allowances, attendance allowances, fuel allowances and other allowances to employees on time. 100% of FDI enterprises have paid social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance to social insurance agencies on time and paid full monthly sickness and maternity benefits to employees. The mindset and mood of union members and employees at FDI enterprises are basically stable, they are assured of working and producing, and are committed to the enterprise for a long time.
