According to the Da Nang City Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, the Northwest area of Da Nang is oriented to become the new growth pole of the City.

In the list of projects attracting investment in Da Nang City in the period of 2022 - 2026, with a vision to 2030, Da Nang calls for many high-tech and information technology projects in this area.

As of the first quarter of 2024, there have been 30 investment projects in Da Nang High-Tech Park, including: 17 domestic projects, with registered investment capital of VND 8,198 billion (equivalent to USD 334.67 million); 13 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, with registered investment capital of USD 726.70 million.

Notable among these are a number of large projects such as: data center and office complex, information technology exhibition and display area; specialized and ICT supporting factory area; R&D area; Da Nang concentrated information technology park and a number of projects in the fields of aviation, space technology, design and manufacturing of robots...

In addition, the Northwest region is concentrating most of Da Nang's industrial parks (IPs) such as: Da Nang Industrial Park, Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Hoa Khanh Expanded Industrial Park, Lien Chieu Industrial Park, Hoa Cam Industrial Park and Da Nang Aquatic Service Area with a total land area of over 1,160 hectares... promising to become a place to welcome the shifting trend of many world economic groups, promoting local and regional economic development.

The high-tech park here is oriented to become a quality information technology community similar to the model of Silicon Valley in the US, promising to attract maximum scientists, engineers, and technology experts from home and abroad to work when put into operation. The project is expected to bring in revenue of about 3 billion USD/year, along with about 25,000 workers. This place will become a satellite city in the Northwest of Da Nang with about 100,000 residents.

Lien Chieu Port – A great driving force for the development of Da Nang's marine economy

In addition to high-tech industry, one of the three key pillars planned in the Northwest region of Da Nang is the development of the marine economy. Accordingly, the investment in the construction of Lien Chieu seaport with a total investment of more than 3,400 billion VND is expected to change the face of Da Nang city.

Lien Chieu Port is classified as a deep-water port of type I; it is one of the three largest ports in the country and the largest port in the Central region. According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the quantifiable value when Lien Chieu Port is put into operation can reach tens to hundreds of thousands of billions of VND per year, similar to Hai Phong Port and Ho Chi Minh City Port.

Not only does it play a significant role in the economy and national security, Lien Chieu Port is also a project of special significance in promoting investment attraction and creating favorable regional connectivity. From there, the port will become a driving force for sustainable socio-economic development not only of Da Nang but also of the entire Central region.

In conjunction with Lien Chieu Port is the policy of establishing a Da Nang Free Trade Zone (FTAZ) to maximize the advantages of trade. From there, a dynamic area with potential to attract international corporations to build concentrated shopping centers associated with high-quality services, diverse commercial activities, and services associated with the central role of Da Nang city will be formed.

Towards 2030, with a vision to 2045, Da Nang City's economy will become a high-tech and marine economic center, forming a key logistics service supply chain in the Central region.
