This is a meaningful and practical work of students of Le Quy Don Primary School, My Tho city, Tien Giang province for over 10 years.
Warmth from small coins
On January 30, Mr. Nguyen Le Tuyen Quang - Head of the Le Quy Don Primary School's Youth Union - said that the school has launched the "Pink Smile - Nurturing Green Dreams" movement (also known as the "raising" piggy bank movement) for over 10 years, helping many poor students in difficult circumstances have more gifts to celebrate Tet.
At the beginning of each school year, students will be given piggy banks by the school to take home to manage and raise. Nearly 800 piggy banks have been given to students.
Every day, students can save the pocket money given by their parents to put in their piggy bank. This support is completely voluntary, spontaneous and depends on each student's ability.
The joy of watching the "big pig" every day is shown in each week's summary of the team and class activities and the overwhelming emotion when personally breaking the piggy bank with a large amount of money to prepare gifts with teachers for students in difficult circumstances.

Parent Nguyen Thi Mai Hue, whose child studies at Le Quy Don Primary School, shared: "I am very happy to see my child participating in raising a piggy bank from the piggy bank "raising" movement to help students with many difficulties. Every day, my child saves money from the money his mother gives him when he goes to school to put in the piggy bank and I myself also participate in supporting my children."
Ms. Le Thi Minh Tham - principal of Le Quy Don Primary School - said that this movement was organized by the school to both motivate students and foster compassion in them.
This movement has been going on for more than 10 years now and thousands of poor and disadvantaged students have received gifts and lucky money every Tet holiday.
In 2024, Le Quy Don Primary School's Union organized a piggy bank, with a total savings of over 98 million VND.
From this savings, the school organized gifts for the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025 and lucky money for 70 students with difficult circumstances who overcame difficulties to study well in the 2024-2025 school year.
