According to information from the provincial Hydrometeorological Station, on the night of May 12, the cold air affecting localities in the province reached its strongest level. Temperatures in areas in the province continued to decrease compared to the previous day. At 7:00 a.m. on May 13, Lao Cai City Meteorological Station observed the temperature at 22.7 degrees Celsius; Pho Rang town (Bao Yen) 22.6 degrees Celsius; Bac Ha mountainous area was 18 degrees Celsius; Sa Pa was coldest at 15 degrees Celsius. This is the third lowest temperature drop recorded in Sa Pa since the beginning of the third lunar month.

It is forecasted that during the day and night of May 13, the cold air affecting Lao Cai will stabilize and then weaken, causing temperatures in the areas to increase slightly again.
