From December 18 to 25, 2024, at two large shopping centers Union Square (171 Dong Khoi, District 1) and Menas Mall (60A Truong Son, Ward 2, Tan Binh District), a branded promotional event - City Sale will take place, with discounts on a series of high-end branded products from perfumes, watches, suitcases, shoes to many world fashion clothing brands.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, this event is a "slice", positioned as an important highlight in the city's large Shopping Season program. The purpose is to stimulate demand, help economic growth, and build Ho Chi Minh City into an attractive destination for luxury shopping, not only for city residents, but also to attract domestic and foreign tourists. In particular, the city aims for a further goal of soon becoming a brand of a "dynamic, modern, hospitable city", comparable to major economic and tourist cities in the region.
This is the second City Sale season this year, held in two phases. Phase 1 from December 18 to 25, 2024, at Union Square and Menas Mall. Phase 2 takes place immediately after that (from December 27, 2024 to January 1, 2025), at 3 other major shopping centers located in the city, including Gigamall Shopping Center (242 Pham Van Dong, Thu Duc City), Vincom Center Dong Khoi (72 Le Thanh Ton, District 1) and SC Vivo City (1,058 Nguyen Van Linh, District 7).

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade said that, in parallel with the "huge sale campaign", City Sale season 2 in 2024 also has billions of dong in vouchers, distributed right at the event and deducted directly from the shopping order.
In addition to 14 consecutive days of sales taking place at 5 shopping malls, City Sale season 2 in 2024 also has an additional "highlight" called "day of the VIPs" - Private Day, a limited sale with special guests. This event will have about 50 famous KOLs in the fields of fashion, beauty... along with 500 VIP customers from brands participating in the event, and some customers randomly selected in the digital marketing program. KOLs and VIP customers will also receive a special program of 20% off the discounted price from 300 brands.
