Notre Dame Cathedral was built by Bishop Isodore Comlombert on October 7, 1877 in a classic and elegant architectural style combining Roman and Gothic styles. The structure of the church includes a basilica, a bell tower and a park.
The exterior of the church is built entirely of bare bricks and bluestone and still retains its bright pink color, free of moss and dust. The interior of the church is designed with a main nave, two side nave and two rows of chapels.
