Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant officially connected to the national grid

At 11:11 a.m. on February 5, 2025, Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant, also the first LNG power plant in Vietnam, successfully connected to the national grid with a capacity of 50 MW.

Witnessing the grid connection of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant were leaders of Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation - JSC (PV Power, stock code: POW), along with representatives of departments, leaders of the Plant and contractors, experts and engineers participating in the project.

The moment of connecting Nhon Trach 3 Thermal Power Plant to the national grid

This is the first time the project has connected electricity to the national grid to begin the trial run. It is expected that in July 2025, after meeting technical requirements, Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant will be put into commercial operation.

Previously, the Plant completed the first firing on January 11, 2025, operating in idle mode at 3,000 rpm, marking an important milestone in the process of putting Vietnam's first LNG power project into operation.

By the end of January 2025, the total progress of Nhon Trach 3 and 4 projects had reached nearly 96%. With the attention and support of Dong Nai province and Petrovietnam, PV Power is making efforts and determination to shorten the progress and put the 2 plants into operation in 2025.

Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant connected to the national grid reached 50 MW

The Nhon Trach 3 and 4 thermal power projects have received special attention from PV Power leaders, who have directed the urgent implementation of construction and testing work right during the Lunar New Year, in order to concretize Directive No. 1/CT-TTg dated January 3, 2025 of the Prime Minister on proactive solutions to ensure adequate electricity supply for production, business and people's lives during peak periods in 2025 and the period 2026-2030 with the goal of "focusing maximum resources to urgently organize the construction of Nhon Trach 3 and 4 power plants, completing and putting them into commercial operation in June 2025".
