As reported, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has prosecuted and temporarily detained Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh (model Ngoc Trinh, 34 years old) for the crime of "Disturbing public order" under Article 318 of the Penal Code.
At the same time, prosecuted the accused and issued an order prohibiting Tran Xuan Dong (36 years old, residing in District 4) from leaving his place of residence for the crimes of "Using fake documents of agencies and organizations" and "Disturbing public order" as prescribed in Articles 314 and 318 of the Penal Code. Up to now, Ho Chi Minh City Police have clarified the related details.
The incident of model Ngoc Trinh with clips of her riding a motorbike in dangerous poses with her hands free, has been widely shared in recent days, causing public outrage.
When being investigated and working with the working groups of Thu Duc City Police, the Road and Railway Traffic Police Department and the Office of the Criminal Police Department (Ho Chi Minh City Police), Ngoc Trinh admitted all the violations as reflected in the clips on social networks.
Ngoc Trinh declared that she has a passion for large displacement motorbikes, so she hired a driving instructor, Tran Xuan Dong, to take the A2 driving test. The two chose deserted roads to practice, and when in high spirits, Ngoc Trinh would ride alone or drive the motorbike with Dong on crowded roads.
Ngoc Trinh said, "I didn't imagine I would violate the law so seriously."
The police clarified and Ngoc Trinh herself stated that during the training process with her instructor, Ngoc Trinh's manager and maid accompanied her to support and film.
After that, Ngoc Trinh's team edited the footage, Ngoc Trinh herself posted the clips on personal social media accounts such as: Tiktok "Ngoc Trinh" (with 6.8 million followers) posted 5 videos with content related to the behavior of driving a large-displacement motorbike with offensive and dangerous driving movements on September 24-28, October 2-6-8; Facebook "Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh (The girl who eats goods - with more than 3.1 million followers) or Fanpage "NGOC TRINH" (currently has 2.7 million likes; 5.9 million followers) posted 1 video showing Ngoc Trinh driving a large-displacement motorbike and having an accident that resulted in a leg injury.
Ngoc Trinh and Dong said that the clips on social networks as mentioned above do not serve the purpose of advertising for large-engine motorcycle brands. Ngoc Trinh's intention, as a famous person, is to create an image and promote herself on social networks.
The investigation agency determined that Ngoc Trinh is a social influencer, with millions of followers on her personal social media accounts, so posting and distributing the video clips as mentioned above has a negative impact on security, order and social safety, negatively affecting the awareness, lifestyle and behavioral culture of young people.
The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department continues to conduct investigation and verification measures according to regulations to urgently clarify the entire content of the case, the criminal acts of Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh, Tran Xuan Dong and the remaining related subjects to thoroughly and strictly handle them before the law.
