(Dan Tri) – On the evening of July 25, thousands of people lined up to enter the National Funeral House to pay their respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Many people were so moved that they could not hold back their tears.

From 5:45 p.m., the National Funeral Home began welcoming people into the yard to pay their respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.


In the funeral home yard, people lined up in two rows to pay their respects. Many veterans wore medals on their chests and held national flags tied with black bands.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tien (91 years old, from Dien Ban, Quang Nam) went to Hanoi to see the General Secretary off for the last time. Mrs. Tien said she had lined up twice because she was not allowed to pay her respects in the morning. In the afternoon, she and her children and grandchildren were present in line outside the funeral home gate from 3 p.m.
"It's just a pity that we won't be able to hear the General Secretary's words anymore," the old lady sadly shared.

Ms. Le Thi Nhung (80 years old, living in Lang Thuong) took the bus from Lang Thuong to the funeral home at 6:30 a.m., and after more than 10 hours was welcomed to burn incense for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Holding in her hands many newspapers with the portrait of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Ms. Nhung tearfully said: "I miss him so much. This morning I took the opportunity to buy some newspapers with his picture to bring with me to see him off for the last time."

Some women could not hide their emotions and burst into tears as they prepared to pay their respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.


Most people wore dark clothes, lined up one after another to bow in memory of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Before the portrait of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on the altar, some people could not hold back their tears.

The old woman burst into tears after visiting General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and was helped out by soldiers.

As the evening wore on, the line of people lining up to visit the General Secretary grew longer and longer.

Many elderly and disabled people were assisted by authorities into the funeral home.

Mr. Doan Tan Phu (64 years old, in Quang Ngai) has only one leg, and was supported by local people and authorities to enter the funeral home.
"When I heard about the State funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, I immediately took a bus to Hanoi, hoping to see him off on his final journey," said Mr. Phu.

At 9 p.m., people continued to line up to pay their respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
