It's a great holiday to experience the tram, walking around the streets of Hanoi in autumn with ancient relics. Nghỉ lễ, trải nghiệm thú vị với tàu điện và di tích xưa - Ảnh 1.

One of the author's experiences during the holiday was making an appointment with his close friend from middle school to visit Thang Long Imperial Citadel on the morning of September 1.

Experience the train, wish it could go longer

On the occasion of September 2nd, my close friend's family from middle school came from Hoa Binh to Hanoi to visit and we made an appointment to meet at Thang Long Imperial Citadel at 9am.

After 8am, my mother and I walked from home to Ha Dong station for 5 minutes. Buying 2 one-way tickets to Cat Linh station cost 26,000 VND.

Today is September 1st so the train is full of passengers, there are no seats so my mother and I stood for a while, until we got off the train at Van Quan station and there were seats available.

It was cool on the train, sitting and watching the city scenery on a holiday was wonderful. My mother and I had not yet had time to see everything, only about 15 minutes to reach Cat Linh station.

Riding the elevated train feels much more leisurely and enjoyable than riding a motorbike or private car. No traffic jams, no dust, no sun or rain, no sweat like when riding a motorbike, leisurely sitting and watching the street, in the blink of an eye you've arrived at your stop.

And if we take other means of transport just to reach our destination in time, when we take the elevated train, my mother and I wish the distance was a little longer so we could sit longer on the train.

When I arrived at Cat Linh station, I booked a 20,000 VND electric car to go to Hoang Thanh because I was afraid of traffic jams when taking a taxi on a holiday. Riding the electric car also felt smooth and gentle, more enjoyable than taking a regular motorbike taxi.

Looking for ancient cultural and artistic values

At nearly 9am, we arrived at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long at the main gate at 19C Hoang Dieu. I bought an entrance ticket for adults for 70,000 VND, and children under 16 were free.

As soon as we entered the gate, our group of 4 adults and 4 children were able to admire the massive architectural work and considered the symbol of Thang Long Imperial Citadel - Doan Mon, the arched door leading to Kinh Thien Palace.

Passing through Doan Mon, one cannot help but be amazed by its solidity, solidity, antiquity, and majesty. One feels as if one is going back in time to find cultural and artistic values from ancient times.

The next destination is Dien Kinh Thien, which is considered the central relic, the main nucleus in the overall historical sites of Hanoi Citadel.

Although we only observed a part of the remaining platform, we saw that this was a sacred place and was built very elaborately, carrying many cultural and artistic values of previous dynasties.

A place that cannot be missed when entering the Imperial Citadel is the museum displaying artifacts excavated in the archaeological sites of the ancient citadel.

My daughter and her friends were amazed when looking at the antiques dating back thousands of years. They were very excited and carefully recorded useful information to share with each other later when studying history and geography.

After many changes, the ancient capital Thang Long no longer has the massive citadels or the red-tiled towers and purple attics, but the remaining relics and traces of the Imperial Citadel still contain great historical and cultural values.

This typical cultural heritage complex, reflecting the historical process of Vietnam over the past 13 centuries, has demonstrated the history of building and defending the country over thousands of years.
