(CLO) The ceremony to receive the title of National Intangible Heritage - Van Cu vermicelli craft took place over 2 days, February 18-19, 2025, with a series of exciting cultural and sporting events.
On February 19, at Van Cu - Nam Thanh village, Huong Toan commune, Huong Tra town (Hue city), the ceremony to receive the title of National Intangible Cultural Heritage for the Van Cu vermicelli making profession took place.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced Decision No. 3979/QD- of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, recognizing the traditional craft - making Van Cu vermicelli as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The Vietnamese Vermicelli Heritage Culinary Festival - Van Cu Vermicelli Village and the Ceremony to receive the title of National Intangible Heritage - Van Cu Vermicelli Craft will take place on February 18-19, 2025 with a series of exciting cultural and sporting events.
Highlights include the display and introduction of OCOP products and local specialties; the Vietnamese vermicelli heritage culinary festival - Van Cu vermicelli village; the Ba Bun worship ceremony, a traditional ritual performed by local people at the Ba Bun temple to show gratitude and commemorate the founder of the craft village...
In particular, the program will promote the re-enactment of the traditional noodle making profession of the people of Van Cu village, promoting the memories of the old noodle stalls of mothers and grandmothers in the fields.
This is one of the traditional features of Van Cu vermicelli making, thereby contributing to promoting the image of community tourism to tourists and locals.

The craft of making Van Cu vermicelli has been around for over 400 years. Through many generations, the people of Van Cu village have preserved the traditional craft of making vermicelli from their ancestors, bringing famous vermicelli to the ancient capital of Hue.
Van Cu is the only locality in the Central region that holds a ceremony to honor the founder of the craft, Ba Bun, on the 22nd day of the first lunar month. With its maintenance and important contributions to the development of traditional crafts and craft villages, in 2014, Van Cu vermicelli craft village was recognized as a "traditional craft village" of Thua Thien Hue province.
