BTO-With the messages "Good books need readers", "Precious books for friends", "Give good books - Buy real books", "Good books: Eyes to read - Ears to listen", the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Festival 2024 was organized by the Department of Information and Communications this morning (April 12) at Dong Giang Primary and Secondary School (Ham Thuan Bac). This is a provincial-level event, organized to respond to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day on April 21.
Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Le Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications, Mr. Vo Thanh Huy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, representatives of the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Bac district, the Provincial Library and more than 400 students and teachers of Dong Giang Primary and Secondary School.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Le Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications affirmed: In the spiritual life of each of us, books play a very important role. Books are an infinite source of knowledge for humanity, providing readers with very useful knowledge and experience in studying, researching and enriching their own life experiences. Reading books to improve awareness in all aspects is a legitimate need of each person and also shows the culture of a civilized and modern society. Therefore, in the Book and Reading Culture Festival 2024, the Department of Information and Communications together with the Provincial Library wishes to bring books to the grassroots, to difficult areas, contributing to giving knowledge, creating long-term values to develop the reading movement in the community. At the same time, I hope that schools will increase propaganda about the meaning of reading for students, organize activities in the library, contribute to nurturing the spirit of learning, forming a reading culture, arousing passion and self-study ability for students...
During the book festival, students and teachers at Dong Giang Primary and Secondary School were guided by the Provincial Library to find books to read at the Mobile Library, participate in fun science games, write their feelings about a story, and compete on the computer. In addition, the unit also awarded scholarships and notebooks to 3 students with difficult circumstances, and a bicycle for students to have a means of transportation to school.
On this occasion, the Department of Information and Communications presented 2 bookcases with 200 books/830 copies, including publications on social sciences, literature and art, history, geography, textbooks, comics... to Dong Giang and La Da Primary and Secondary Schools. In addition, Binh Thuan Book and Equipment Joint Stock Company and Viettel Binh Thuan joined hands to support the 2 schools with about 250 books. Thereby, encouraging students to read books outside of class to enhance their Vietnamese language skills, enrich their knowledge, practice self-study, self-reading, and teamwork skills...
