Ngan Son brightens the tradition of revolutionary homeland

With the spirit of solidarity and determination, the people of Ngan Son have joined hands to contribute to building their homeland. The district Party Committee focuses on directing the development of agriculture and forestry based on the application of scientific advances, restructuring crops and livestock, using high-value varieties and promoting agricultural mechanization.

The total agricultural land area is over 4,024 hectares, the total annual food output is over 15,751 tons, ensuring food security. The district focuses on converting high-value crops such as tobacco (726.14 hectares/year), Khau Nua Lech (131.31 hectares/year), chestnut (200.78 hectares, reaching 101% of the Congress Resolution). In addition, the district also encourages the development of fruit tree and clean vegetable growing models according to VietGAP standards to improve product quality and meet market demand.

Implementing economic development solutions, Ngan Son promotes forestry development, planting an average of more than 618 hectares of forest per year, of which large trees account for 388.36 hectares. In the area, there are 10 forest product processing facilities, 12 small and medium-sized buffalo, cow and pig farms. In addition, the district also supports people in developing livestock and poultry farming models in the direction of biosafety, helping to improve productivity and product quality.

The new rural development program has received consensus from the people, with contributions of effort and finance. Currently, each commune has achieved an average of 11.75/14 criteria. Local authorities focus on investing in developing transport infrastructure, clean water supply systems, electricity networks and cultural and sports facilities to improve the quality of life for the people.

Since the beginning of the term (2020-2025), the district has invested in 127.3km of roads, 11 national standard schools, and many infrastructure projects for socio-economic development. Collective economy and cooperatives have gradually developed. In the period of 2020-2025, the whole district has established 28 cooperatives. The district currently has 14 3-star OCOP products, increasing the value of agricultural products and increasing people's income. Along with that, the district is promoting trade promotion, connecting the consumption of agricultural products with large enterprises and supermarkets in and outside the province, helping to increase the value of agricultural products and develop the local economy.

With many resources deployed and the efforts of the people, income has been gradually increased and life has been stabilized. The poverty rate has decreased from 51.13% (3,803 households) to 39.84% (3,018 households) by the end of 2024. To continue to sustainably reduce poverty, the district has implemented many programs to support economic development, vocational training for rural workers, and create conditions for people to access preferential loans.

Party development work was focused on, admitting 564 new party members, bringing the total to 3,667 party members (11.9% of the population). Over 95.7% of party members fulfilled their tasks well. Every year, the quality of party organizations met the target. The district party committee also focused on improving the quality of cadres and party members, promoting administrative reform to better serve the people and businesses.
