Both the Leopard and Marder were captured by Russia during the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The Leopard 2 tank was repaired by a repair team and transferred to the repair unit of the Central Military District from the Avdeevsky direction in mid-April. The Marder infantry fighting vehicle was transferred from Avdiivka to Russia in late March.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the exhibition of weapons and equipment captured by the Russian army during the special operation will open on Poklonnaya Hill, Moscow, where there is a museum about victories in the wars of 1812 and 1945.
The exhibition will feature more than 30 pieces of military equipment manufactured in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Turkey, Sweden, Czechoslovakia, South Africa, Finland, Australia, Austria and Ukraine. In addition to the Leopard and Marder tanks mentioned above, visitors will also get to see the American Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, the Swedish CV90 infantry fighting vehicle and the French AMX-10RC armored fighting vehicle.
The exhibition is expected to last for 1 month.
