In order to preserve and promote the values of traditional products in the area, promote production development, and increase income for rural communities, in recent times, Gia Vien district has implemented many synchronous solutions to promote, advise, and orient entities to build OCOP products.
In 2023 alone, the district has reviewed, evaluated, classified and recognized 16 more products. Including: Cuong Cuc sausage, Cuong Cuc shiitake mushroom sprouts (Me town); Doan Thoa dried lotus heart, Doan Thoa dried lotus seeds (Gia Tran commune); Ong Kim sticky rice wine; Ong Kim areca sticky rice wine (Gia Sinh commune); Diem Giang rice paper (Gia Thang commune); Gia Vuong conical hats (Gia Vuong commune); Duc Tinh carp floss, Duc Tinh grass carp floss (Gia Minh commune); Ba Tu traditional shrimp paste (Gia Trung commune); Son Lam lace embroidery products (scarf, bag) (Gia Lap commune); Tue Hue longan honey (Me town); Ba Non na dai (Gia Hoa commune); Dai Huu straw grilled fish (Gia Phuong commune); Van Long black carp (Gia Van commune).
Thus, up to now, the whole district has 26 OCOP products from 3 to 4 stars. The locality is focusing on promoting trade, supporting businesses, cooperatives, and households to participate in fairs and exhibitions to have the opportunity to promote products; learn and exchange experiences in production and business. Up to now, the district's OCOP products have been introduced in many provinces and cities across the country and directly serve the local tourism development.
