The US Commerce Department, which oversees export policy, has added a total of 28 companies, including several Finnish and German firms, to a trade blacklist, making it more difficult for US suppliers to ship technology to them.

Nine of the companies, including China's Asia Pacific Links Ltd and Russia's SMT-iLogic, are said to have been involved in a scheme to supply the blacklisted Special Technology Center with drone parts.
The head of the US Commerce Department's export control division, Alan Estevez, said in a statement that the department will not hesitate to take swift action against those who continue to seek to supply and support the fighting in Ukraine.
Six more Chinese entities were added for allegedly procuring aerospace parts for Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Company, which were used to build drones, according to the US Commerce Department.
The US has been actively using trade blacklists to target China's technology sector and to try to hinder Russia's war in Ukraine.
