On December 26, according to the People's Council of Vinh Long province, Mr. Bui Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of this province, signed and issued a resolution stipulating tuition fees for public preschools, general education institutions and continuing education institutions for the 2023-2024 school year in the province.
Vinh Long collects preschool tuition fees equal to high school tuition fees in group 1
This Resolution applies to children and students (collectively referred to as students) studying at public preschools, general education institutions and continuing education institutions in the province. Specifically, group 1: Students studying at schools in urban areas (wards and towns in the province) the fee is 300,000 VND/student/month.
Group 2 is students studying at rural schools (communes in the province). The tuition fee for high school is 200,000 VND/student/month; for preschool and secondary school it is 100,000 VND/student/month.
Group 3 is students studying at schools in ethnic minority areas. High school tuition is 100,000 VND/student/month and kindergarten and secondary school tuition is 50,000 VND/student/month. The above tuition rates apply to in-person and online learning.
Ethnic minority areas are specified in Decision No. 861 dated June 4, 2021 of the Prime Minister approving the list of communes in Region II and Region I in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021 - 2025, including Dong Binh and Dong Thanh communes (Binh Minh Town); Loan My commune (Tam Binh District); Tan My and Tra Con communes (Tra On District).
Policies on tuition exemption and reduction, support for learning costs, support for tuition payments, payment methods and mechanisms for collection, management and use of tuition fees are implemented according to Chapter III and Chapter IV of Decree No. 81 dated August 27, 2021 of the Government stipulating the mechanism for collection and management of tuition fees for educational institutions in the national education system and policies on tuition exemption and reduction, support for learning costs; service prices in the field of education and training.
