More than 166.5 billion VND invested in 42 rural clean water supply projects

(VLO) The Provincial People's Committee has just approved the plan to implement the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, in the field of rural clean water supply (NRW).

Thereby, it aims to build a roadmap for implementing NSNT-level projects and works; contributing to the successful implementation of the goals, tasks and solutions set out in the Vinh Long Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

By 2030, the rate of rural households in the province using water through centralized water supply works will reach 97% and by 2050, 100% of rural residents will have access to safe, sustainable, and quality water and sanitation according to regulations of the Ministry of Health and local technical standards.

To ensure this goal is achieved, the plan proposes solutions to raise public awareness in water use, protect water resources and attract resources to continue developing water use and environmental sanitation programs in the province...

In particular, focusing on investment solutions for rural water supply through centralized water supply, household-scale water supply, safe water supply adapting to climate change and safe and effective operation management of existing works to increase the rate of rural households using standard water according to the set goals.

In the period of 2025-2030, 12 new inter-commune water supply works will be invested in and the capacity of 30 existing water supply stations will be upgraded and expanded with a total investment of 166.5 billion VND from the state budget, ODA loans, foreign preferential loans, credit capital, enterprise capital and other legally mobilized capital sources. It is estimated that 7,674 more rural households will use water from these works.
