The day before leaving for military service, the two brothers Chan and Chinh went to a small barber shop right next to Phuoc Ly apartment complex (Hoa An, Cam Le) to get their hair cut. The hair that the two brothers had grown and dyed before Tet was neatly cut before the day of departure.

The two happily teased each other as the barber used clippers to cut off their favorite wavy hair. Knowing that the two brothers were about to leave for the army, the barber waived the haircut fee as a "gift" to celebrate their enlistment.

Leaders of Hoa An Ward People's Committee directly met and encouraged the two brothers Chan Chinh. Mr. Nguyen Kim Thanh - Chairman of Hoa An Ward People's Committee said: The twin brothers Nguyen Chi Chan and Nguyen Chi Chinh have difficult family circumstances, their mother is a single mother raising three brothers. The two brothers voluntarily wrote an application to join the army in an excited atmosphere and determined to fulfill their military service. "Although their family is in difficult circumstances, the two brothers are very obedient, filial, and loved by everyone. The locality welcomes the spirit and enthusiasm of young people in general. For special cases like Chan and Chinh, the ward pays more attention when they have just turned 18, their family is short of people, and their economic situation is difficult. We believe that when they are aware of their responsibilities, they will certainly mature," said Mr. Thanh.

Relatives took a commemorative photo of the Chan Chinh brothers before cutting their hair to join the military. The two young people look much more mature. "Since childhood, the two brothers watched many movies and photos about the army and loved the color of the soldier's uniform. Due to difficult circumstances, the two brothers had to drop out of school early, so they discussed joining the military together. After completing their military service, the two brothers will go to vocational school to help their mother soon."

After 12 noon, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Oanh (43 years old), mother of Chan and Chinh, came home from Ngu Hanh Son district, more than 10km away. Looking at her two children in military uniforms, Ms. Oanh couldn't help but be happy and hugged them. After her husband and her separated, Ms. Oanh struggled to raise 3 children alone. To earn money to send them to school, she worked as a house cleaner, with hourly wages. Her eldest son is in 12th grade at the Continuing Education Center No. 2 in Da Nang. "The children joined the army when they turned 18. That is a very beautiful age. They both fulfill their civic duty to the country and have an environment to train and grow. At first, I was a bit worried, but now I am very proud of them. Both of them know how to think for their mother, think for themselves, and are steadfast with their friends and teammates to serve the country," Ms. Oanh shared.

She said that tonight she will hug both of them to sleep, because tomorrow she will miss them very much. "The children have not yet left, but I have had trouble sleeping for the past few nights. The two brothers held their mother's hands and said that they will be determined to complete their mission so that after leaving the army, one will go to bartending school, the other will study auto repair to have a job for themselves and help their mother. Hearing the children talk, I know that they have grown up and have chosen their own path. That makes my mother happy," Ms. Oanh said.
