TPO - After many years of preparation, the Hanoi People's Committee has just approved the proposal for construction of three Red River overpass projects, Tu Lien, Tran Hung Dao, and Ngoc Hoi, as soon as possible. Tu Lien bridge is scheduled to start construction on May 19, 2025.

The location and architectural design of the three bridges across the Red River have just been revised and completed by consulting units and the agency assigned to manage the project to submit to the Hanoi People's Council.

Regarding Tu Lien bridge, the Hanoi Traffic Construction Project Management Board is currently assigned to prepare investment in the project with a total capital of more than 19,000 billion VND.

According to the architectural design plan that has been consulted for construction, the bridge has a concrete structure combined with a torsion beam. This plan is evaluated, creating a bridge with large spans with a light steel frame system, two main bridge piers are shaped in an artistic spiral, expected to become a new architectural symbol of Hanoi when completed.

Tu Lien Bridge and the two-way approach roads have a total length of about 11.5km, the main bridge alone is 2.9km long, the cross-section scale according to the planning ensures 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 mixed lanes and 2 pedestrian lanes. The bridge has a construction site with the starting point in Tu Lien ward, Tay Ho district and the ending point in Dong Anh district. The bridge is planned to start construction on May 19.

Tran Hung Dao Bridge is built with the beginning of the bridge at the intersection of Tran Hung Dao - Tran Thanh Tong, Hoan Kiem district; the end point is at Nguyen Van Linh street, Long Bien district with a total investment of about 8,670 billion VND.

The total length of the route is about 5.5km, the bridge has 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 lanes for non-motor vehicles and pedestrians on both sides.

Tran Hung Dao Bridge has an arched architectural design (dragon-shaped) with 6 continuous spans, the main span across the Red River has the longest span - 900 m.

Ngoc Hoi Bridge construction project is located on Ring Road 3.5, the bridge has its starting point in Thanh Tri district, the ending point in Van Giang district, Hung Yen province. The total investment of the project is about 11,770 billion VND.

The Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Management Board (project manager) has just announced that after the city approves the bridge construction proposal, the Board will organize a competition for architectural plans. Regarding the bridge construction structure, the Traffic Board said that the bridge will still be built with a concrete structure and permanent steel core like the recently completed Vinh Tuy 2 Bridge.
