Jade Callau - Miss Bolivia - was arrested while traveling on a plane with 352 packages of cocaine with a total weight of 359 kg.
British newspaper Metro reported that Jade Callau - a Bolivian beauty queen - was arrested after landing in a cornfield with nearly £12 million worth of drugs on board.
Jade Callau and Carlos Costas Diaz - 42-year-old Brazilian pilots - were forced to land the Cessna 210 plane in a cornfield among the low-lying islands of the Parana Delta in northeastern Argentina.
Drugs were found on the plane carrying Jade Callau - Miss Bolivia.
Nestor Roncaglia, the Minister of Security of the Entre Rios province, said that with the cooperation of the National Gendarmerie, the Entre Rios police searched the plane and found 352 packages of cocaine with a total weight of 359 kg.
"The Entre Ríos police were notified of a plane landing in a field in the province of Islas del Ibicuy. A couple was on board, they fled and were later arrested. They were a man from Brazil and a woman from Bolivia," said Nestor Roncaglia.
Mr Roncaglia estimated the cargo to be worth around €14m (£11.75m). He added: "Everything suggests the plane came from Bolivia and was flying around 1,500km. The final destination was not Entre Rios, as the plane made an emergency landing due to lack of fuel."
Jade Callau, 21, was crowned Miss FexpoBorja 2019 in San Borja, a provincial city in northern Bolivia with a population of 22,000. She has appeared on television several times, most recently in August.
Jade was last active on social media 10 days ago, sharing clips of herself dancing and applying makeup on her TikTok channel, which has more than 6,000 followers.
Bolivia is one of the world's largest producers of coca, along with Peru and Colombia. Coca is the raw material for the drug cocaine. These plants are often exported to Colombia, which produces the world's largest amount of cocaine.
