The leaders of the Market Management Department of Soc Trang province stepped in to verify and clarify the content of the accusation. The accused said he did not remember whether he texted or called to ask for money.
On November 9, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien, Director of the Market Management Department (QLTT) of Soc Trang province, said that the unit had just held a meeting with the Party Committee and agreed to verify and clarify the text message and audio recording asking the business (gas station owner) for support money for medical examination.
Message believed to be from Mr. Hoang to the business owner.
The person suspected of texting and calling the business is Mr. Dinh Cong Hoang, Deputy Captain of Market Management Team No. 3.
In the recording of the request for medical examination fee support, Mr. Hoang is said to have cursed many times.
In a text message to the business, the suspect wrote: "I plan to go to Ho Chi Minh City on Monday to get an MRI of my head. Please help me a little."
When the business replied that it was having difficulties, this person texted: "It's okay, it's fine, it's mainly about friendship."
The time the Market Management Officer allegedly texted the business to ask for money was May and September 2023. The business then transferred money to Mr. Hoang via Argibank's account.
In another message, the officer sent the business the message: "I'm thinking of buying moon cakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival. Buy them for your boss, just transfer a little bit."
Reporters spoke with Mr. Hoang by phone about this official texting and calling businesses to ask for money.
The deputy captain said he did not remember whether he texted or called the business to harass it.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien, after verifying the incident from the business side, the unit will invite the suspected officer to work.
