"Many diners say crocodile meat tastes like chicken but is softer and crispier. I find it more like braised chicken," said the restaurant owner.
This is not the first time Taiwan has seen strange noodle dishes that have intrigued diners. Last month, a restaurant in Taipei served ramen noodles made from a 14-legged crustacean called sea beetle. The dish is simpler to prepare than the alligator leg noodles. The chef steams the sea beetle for about 10 minutes, then places it on top of a bowl of hot ramen and serves it to customers.
Currently, customers who want to enjoy crocodile leg noodles at Witch Chat Kwai restaurant must make a reservation in advance and will not be able to get a meal until after August. In Taiwan, it is legal to raise and eat crocodiles.
