DNVN - Australian plums were officially introduced to Vietnamese consumers in Ho Chi Minh City on February 11 and in Hanoi on February 18, marking an important milestone in the imported fruit market in Vietnam.
The Australian plum launch event in Ho Chi Minh City on February 11 and in Hanoi on February 18, organized by Summerfruit Australia and Horticulture Innovation Australia (HIA), marks the official launch of Australian plums in Vietnam, providing consumers with the opportunity to access delicious, nutritious fresh fruit.
The events brought together more than 20 leading fruit retailers, importers and chain stores from across Vietnam, representatives from the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade Vietnam) and the Australian Business Association in Vietnam (AuschamAusCham) and more than 20 Vietnamese KOLs and KOCs.
The Australian plum launch event in Vietnam included networking sessions with industry leaders, sharing information from Summerfruit Australia. Guests got to experience first-hand the natural sweetness and high vitamin content of this fruit.
Guests tasted fresh plums and tried an Australian plum mocktail.
The event also featured a live cooking demonstration showcasing creative uses of plums, including delicious plum desserts and refreshing plum mocktails. The demonstration provided creative inspiration for HoReCa industry partners, helping them find fresh ideas to incorporate Australian plums into their menus at culinary establishments across Vietnam.
Ms. Liz Tran - spokesperson of Summerfruit Australia in Vietnam said that Australian plums are mainly grown in Victoria and South Australia, where the climate and soil conditions are ideal for producing high quality fruits. Australian plums are rich in polyphenols, which help boost the immune system, support bone health and can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
Guests have the opportunity to connect to promote trade as well as Australian plum products.
Imported directly from high-quality Australian farms, Australian plums meet strict standards of freshness and food safety. 72 hours after being harvested, the plums will arrive in Vietnam by air, ensuring absolute freshness. If transported by sea, the travel time will take about 2 weeks.
