The final round of the "2nd Military and Martial Arts Competition for Direct Combat Forces in the People's Public Security - 2023" not only demonstrates the force, promotes the emulation movement "For National Security", but also contributes to tightening discipline and order and improving the quality and effectiveness of security and order work in the new situation.
Impressive opening
Opening yesterday morning, June 4, the final round of the "2nd Military and Martial Arts Competition for Direct Combat Forces in the People's Public Security (CAND) - 2023" hosted by Quang Nam, took place from June 2 - 8, 2023. The competition had the participation of more than 1,600 officers and soldiers from 33 police teams of provinces, cities and professional departments.
Quang Nam Police will compete with 32 high-achieving teams in 4 qualifying rounds. In the final round, the teams will compete in 2 subjects. Military subjects include: obstacle running and military gun shooting with 9 applied shooting exercises; martial arts subjects include: techniques, tactics, ensemble performance and Mai Hoa Quyen analysis with 52 movements and situations applying CAND martial arts.
Right at the opening ceremony, the competition made a strong impression on the audience with the magnificent and elaborate performances from the Mobile Police Command and Quang Nam Police, which were carefully prepared and performed.
In particular, the qigong performance demonstrated the strength, discipline, and hard work of the soldiers. The shooting application competition, anti-terrorism demonstration, and hostage rescue attracted the attention of the audience with impressive explosion and fire effects.
The audience was amazed by the outstanding abilities of the police officers when they performed demolitions, carrying heavy objects on broken glass floors, lying on spiked tables to break rocks; using their necks, throats, and eye sockets to bend iron or pushing and pulling vehicles weighing from several tons to more than 15 tons...
In the target shooting and anti-terrorism demonstration, the agility, skill and flexibility of officers and soldiers, along with the skillful application of techniques, tactics and professional means, partly demonstrated the strength, combat and response capabilities of the People's Public Security Forces in the new situation.
Exciting competition
Previously, Quang Nam Police actively prepared the content and tasks of hosting the contest, and actively practiced to perform the contests, contributing to the success of the contest.
Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Tan Phuc - Head of the Party and Political Affairs Department of the Provincial Police said that all tasks to ensure security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting, propaganda work about the contest, reception service work... have been carefully prepared by the Provincial Police and assigned to police units and localities according to their functions and tasks.
“With a large number of athletes participating, the Provincial Police have coordinated with the authorities and relevant units to basically arrange accommodation for the athletes. At the same time, they have assigned volunteers who are youth union members, officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police to contact the delegations to guide and coordinate throughout, ensuring convenience before, during and after the delegations return to Quang Nam to participate in the competition,” said Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Tan Phuc.
Welcoming the teams participating in the final round, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Quang emphasized that the competition held in Quang Nam is one of the activities contributing to demonstrating the strength and bravery of the People's Public Security Forces.
At the same time, it is an opportunity for the national police to exchange, learn, and share experiences and skills in responding to all situations, creating flexibility and sensitivity to contribute to improving the quality and effectiveness of security and order work in the new situation. The provincial leaders have directed relevant departments, branches, sectors and organizations to create all favorable conditions for the provincial police and the Ministry of Public Security to successfully organize the contest.

The contest aims to encourage officers and soldiers to voluntarily train and improve their political qualities and sense of responsibility. Through the qualifying round in 4 groups with the participation of more than 4,000 officers and soldiers from 77 police teams of units and localities, the Organizing Committee selected 32 teams to win First, Second, Third prizes and Quang Nam Police to participate in the final.
“The military and martial arts competition for direct combat forces is one of the solutions to improve the quality of command training, military training, martial arts, and enhance the qualifications and combat capabilities of officers and soldiers in the context of the situation, requirements, and tasks of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety posing many new difficulties and challenges,” Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Toan emphasized.
