Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online at noon on June 18, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam - affirmed that the infrastructure and procedures related to the fleet of ships carrying tourists through the heritage sites from Hue, Da Nang to Quang Nam are being urgently completed.

In 2024, the train tour from the heritage will be extended by 91.5km through Quang Nam province.

A magical journey through the heritage chain

Rail travel is emerging as a romantic experience, attracting a large number of visitors. Especially when airfares increase dramatically, choosing to travel to the Central region on trains through Hue, viewing Hai Van Pass and Da Nang city through the train window makes visitors admire and enjoy the beauty of the sky and sea.

The railway industry has seized the opportunity to organize a fleet of trains from Hue to Da Nang. Recently, this route has been strongly promoted, making customers excited to choose it.

However, despite being located right next to Da Nang, two heritage sites of Quang Nam, Hoi An and My Son, have not yet been connected to the fleet that takes heritage journeys as the core experience.

The reason, according to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, is that the station infrastructure in Quang Nam is not ready to serve tourism.

However, given the appeal of rail tourism, at a recent press conference to stimulate tourism in Quang Nam, the idea of ​​extending the train through the Central heritage region was suggested by Vietnam Railways Corporation.

In just the past few months, from the initial idea, Quang Nam and the railway industry have continuously surveyed and worked to make it a reality. Tra Kieu Station in Duy Xuyen and Tam Ky Station have been preparing to change to upgrade their functions from passenger transport to tourism.

Revealing the shape of the train through the heritage land

To conclude all discussions, at the meeting with the Quang Nam tourism industry on June 17, Vietnam Railways Corporation announced a plan to run a pair of trains from Hue - Da Nang extending through Quang Nam.

Accordingly, the railway industry will operate the train with the support of Quang Nam province to ensure efficiency.

At Tra Kieu and Tam Ky stations, managed and operated by Vietnam Railways Corporation, in coordination with local authorities to ensure safety, service, improve image and synchronization with the quality of the entire tourist train to create the most convenience for passengers.

Two pairs of trains, HD1/2 and HD3/4 (currently running on the Hue - Da Nang route) will extend the journey to Tam Ky station in a chain through the Central heritage center including Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam.

The time from when the train departs to the destination is expected to last about 6 hours, at each station there is a stop for passengers to rest and sightsee. The expected operating time is in 2024.

According to Vietnam Railways Corporation, with the train connection to Quang Nam, tourists coming to this locality by train will reach 4 million/year by 2026.

To attract travel businesses, people and tourists, the railway industry has also launched a series of large incentive programs such as ticket discounts for people with revolutionary contributions; ticket discounts on major holidays; the larger the group, the lower the ticket price.

Looking forward to a new journey of experience

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong said that the plan for the extended operation of the Central Heritage Train is being worked on very urgently by all parties.

"Although the plan to welcome the train to Quang Nam is still a few months away, currently many large tourism businesses in Quang Nam such as Hoianna, Hoi An Memories, Vin Wonder... have announced that they will join forces and launch special priority programs for train passengers.
