If selected to build Long Thanh airport terminal, the domestic contractor consortium led by Coteccons said it would complete it by August 2026.
The Hoa Lu consortium, led by Coteccons, includes eight contractors, including Hoa Binh, Central, An Phong, Delta, Unicons, Thanh An and Power Line Engineering (PLE - Thailand). This is one of three consortia submitting bids for the construction and installation of passenger terminal equipment (package 5.10) at Long Thanh airport.
At a recent press conference, this consortium announced its plan to bid for the Long Thanh airport terminal project (Dong Nai). If the bid is won and the project starts in August this year, the Long Thanh airport terminal will be completed around August 2026.
The plan to build this airport terminal was researched and drafted by them for about a year.

Sharing with VnExpress , Mr. Bolat Duisenov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Coteccons, said the reason why large enterprises agreed to "join hands" on this occasion is because difficult projects will naturally attract talented people. Contractors participating in the consortium follow the method of "extracting" the best points of each member to combine them into a whole. He compared this method to a puzzle.
"We see the determination of each member of the consortium to complete the project as quickly as possible, rather than considering who is better," he said.
Responding to questions about the presence of foreign contractors, the Chairman of Coteccons said that they were not "racing" to gain international reputation to "improve their profile", but focused on their ability to meet the requirements. PLE will take on the role of mechanical - electrical - plumbing (MEP) construction for the project, a field in which the company has great experience and capacity in Thailand. Mr. Bolat said that PLE is even more suitable as it has just completed the MEP package at the Suvarnabhumi Airport expansion project.
In addition to the Thai contractor, the consortium also has a memorandum of understanding with two project consulting units from France and Japan. He said these are two units with great capacity and experience in airport construction in the world, hoping to increase the project's ability to complete.
Mr. Tran Quang Tuan, CEO of Central Construction Company, said that with the rapid construction progress, they have calculated the case where the cash flow is negative 5,000 billion VND. At that time, the tens of thousands of billion VND that Vietinbank, MB, TPBank and BIDV committed to arrange will become a source of capital to ensure the entire consortium.
Package 5.10 - construction and installation of passenger terminal equipment with a total value of more than 35,000 billion VND is the largest item of the Long Thanh Airport project. In addition to Hoa Lu, two other consortiums submitted bids.
One is the Vietur Joint Venture led by the Turkish Ic Istas Construction Industry and Trade Group (Ic Istas), with the participation of contractors in the ecosystem founded by Mr. Nguyen Ba Duong such as Ricons, Newtecons, Sol E&C.
The remaining consortium, CHEC-BCEG-Vietnam Contractors, includes Thuan Viet, CDC, Xuan Mai, and Beijing Construction Engineering Group, led by China Harbour Engineering. China Harbour Engineering is one of the leading enterprises in China, often participating in large infrastructure projects assigned by the government.
When asked what would happen if the construction and financial capacity of the three bidding consortiums were equal, Mr. Bolat Duisenov said that Hoa Lu's strength was its high level of consensus. The consortium had spent a year learning, researching and gaining knowledge and experience from each other. They said that this was a "very valuable" project because through it, domestic engineers would find ways to upgrade their skills, techniques and advanced standards. Thanks to that, the domestic construction industry could confidently enter foreign markets.
"The deep affection and determination of Vietnamese people to build a symbolic project of Vietnam is the driving force to carry out this project," said the Chairman of Coteccons.
