From May 4, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and High School for the Gifted (Ho Chi Minh City National University) began accepting registration for the 10th grade entrance exam for students nationwide.

In 2023, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted will enroll 595 grade 10 students for specialized classes and 180 students for non-specialized classes.
Specifically, the school reserves 105 quotas/specialized subjects for Math and English; 70 quotas/specialized subjects for Literature, Physics, Chemistry; 35 quotas/specialized subjects for Biology, Information Technology, and French.
In addition, the History major class has 17 students, the Geography major has 18 students. The number of students majoring in Chinese is 20, and the number of students majoring in Japanese is 15.
Candidates can register for admission online from May 4 to 4:30 p.m. on May 9. The school will receive applications and issue registration forms directly within 5 days, May 23-27.
To take the entrance exam to the school, students must graduate from junior high school with honors, and have training and learning assessment results for the entire school year in grades 6, 7, and 8 ranked as good or higher.
The school entrance exam will take place over 2 days, June 6-7, with the subjects being Literature, Math, Foreign Language and specialized subjects.
The admission score for specialized classes is the total score of 4 exams (in which the specialized exam has a coefficient of 2), and the admission score for non-specialized grade 10 is the total score of 3 exams in Literature, Math and Foreign Language.

Starting to receive online applications from May 4 to 5:00 p.m. on May 11, this school year, the Gifted High School - Ho Chi Minh City National University will enroll 595 students for grade 10 at two campuses: District 5 (350 students) and Thu Duc City (245 students).
At the District 5 campus, the school recruits 350 students for specialized classes in Math, Information Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. The specialized Math and English classes are recruited into 2 classes, the remaining classes are recruited into 1 class.
At Thu Duc campus, the school enrolls 245 students into 7 specialized classes oriented towards interdisciplinary fields (LN): Math - LN (one class), Physics - LN (one class), Chemistry - LN (one class), Biology - LN (one class), English - LN (2 classes) and Literature - LN (one class).
Students registering for the exam must have a year-round academic conduct rating of good or higher for all junior high school classes, and a junior high school graduation rating of good or higher.
Candidates are required to take 4 exams, including 3 non-major subjects: Math, Literature, English and an optional specialized subject exam from the subjects of Math, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature and English.

The non-major subject exam consists of both essay and multiple choice parts, the major subject exam will be an essay test. Each candidate can register for a maximum of 2 major subjects in the elective major exam.
The entrance exam will take place on May 26 and 27.
