Coach Philippe Troussier changed many positions in the main squad of U23 Vietnam compared to the previous 2 matches. Players who rarely played were given opportunities. Le Van Do, Tran Quang Thinh, Nguyen Van Tung, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Phan Tuan Tai... were all placed on the bench in the match against U23 Singapore.
Nguyen Duc Anh, Cao Van Binh and Le Quoc Nhat Nam made their first appearances in the U23 Asian qualifiers. Luong Duy Cuong, Bui Vi Hao, Ho Van Cuong, Khuat Van Khang and Nguyen Dinh Bac were also given a chance to start after coming off the bench in the first two matches.
Le Van Do and some key players of U23 Vietnam did not start in the match against U23 Singapore.
In the list of 11 starting players of U23 Vietnam today (September 12), only Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Nguyen Thai Son and Hoang Van Toan are the main players against U23 Guam and U23 Yemen.
Vietnam U23 is certain to qualify for the 2024 AFC U23 Championship. Coach Troussier and his team are the first team to do so, after defeating Guam U23 and Yemen U23. Without pressure on results, Coach Troussier can experiment with many personnel options in the match against Singapore U23.
