Departure ceremony of bringing strawberries onto Vietnam Airlines flights

On the afternoon of February 12, in Co Noi commune, Mai Son district, the largest vine growing area of ​​Son La province, the Provincial People's Committee held a departure ceremony to bring Son La strawberries on Vietnam Airlines flights. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of provincial departments and branches and Mai Son District People's Committee.

Son La province has advantages in climate and soil, suitable for mulberry growth. In the 2024 - 2025 crop year, Son La province has 743.2 hectares of strawberry growing area; expected output is over 9,300 tons. Since the beginning of the season, nearly 2,100 tons have been exported to domestic and foreign markets, mainly in Mai Son, Moc Chau, and Yen Chau districts. In particular, Mai Son is the largest strawberry growing area in the province with over 557 hectares; output of over 7,500 tons; output consumed over 1,700 tons. Son La strawberries have a rich sweetness, a characteristic delicious flavor, and are well received and highly appreciated by the market. Son La strawberries are currently available in supermarkets, shopping centers, and wholesale markets nationwide; and will be included in Vietnam Airlines meals from 2024.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong emphasized: This event has a particularly important meaning, aiming to realize the agreement between the People's Committee of Son La province and Vietnam Airlines Corporation in promoting and introducing Son La agricultural products on Vietnam Airlines flights, including strawberries, to domestic and international tourists, affirming the value and quality of strawberries in particular and agricultural products in general.

Mr. NGUYEN THANH CONG - Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee: The fact that Son La strawberry products are included in passenger meals on each Vietnam Airlines flight is to promote Son La agricultural products in particular, and Vietnamese agricultural products in general, to friends around the world; is also proof that to be included in the plane's meals, technical factors must be met; Pesticide residue, fruit size and preservation time. From here, we will connect with large enterprises and investors to continue investing in Son La.

Bringing Son La strawberries into Vietnam Airlines meals will open a new door to promote connections, trade, expand consumption markets, and enhance the reputation and position of strawberries in the domestic agricultural market. Son La strawberries, after going through a strict inspection process, will officially be available on Vietnam Airlines flights from February 16./.
