Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and Cultural Week 2024

On February 21, at Tay Yen Tu spiritual and ecological tourist area, Son Dong district (Bac Giang), the People's Committee of Bac Giang province solemnly held the opening ceremony of Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and the opening ceremony of Bac Giang Cultural - Tourism Week 2024 with the theme "Sacred Tay Yen Tu".

Attending the event were Party Central Committee member Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of Vietnam Journalists Association; Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh, and leaders of a number of central, provincial and municipal agencies, ministries and branches.

Delegates from Bac Giang province included Party Central Committee member Duong Van Thai, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Le Thi Thu Hong; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong.

Also attending were former members of the Party Central Committee, leaders, former leaders of Bac Giang province; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, agencies, organizations of the province, and the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Bac Giang province.

Despite the wet weather and heavy rain, tens of thousands of locals and tourists from all over the country gathered at the central square to attend the opening ceremony. Before the opening ceremony, delegates offered incense at Ha Pagoda, Tay Yen Tu.

In his opening speech, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province Le Anh Duong emphasized: Started in 2019, after 5 years of implementation, the Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and the Bac Giang Provincial Culture - Tourism Week have become typical products, a source of pride contributing to positioning the Bac Giang tourism brand.

The Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival has spread the cultural values ​​and unique heritage of Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhism associated with the path of propagating Buddhism of the Three Patriarchs of Truc Lam to a wide range of people. Thereby, helping people and tourists understand and feel more clearly a religious Zen sect with its own characteristics of the Vietnamese people, taking the interests of the nation, the interests of the country and the interests of all living beings as the basic factors in the practice process of each person.

Along with the Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival, the series of events of the Bac Giang Culture - Tourism Week are organized annually in many diverse and rich forms in localities in the province, attracting hundreds of thousands of tourists to learn and experience the nature, history, traditional culture and the beauty of Bac Giang people. Thereby, contributing to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values; strengthening the promotion of tourism potential and strengths; strongly promoting tourism cooperation between Bac Giang province and localities nationwide; linking sustainable tourism development with socio-economic development in the province.

The Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and Bac Giang Province Culture - Tourism Week 2024 will be held from February 20 to 25, 2024 (ie from January 11 to 16, the year of the Dragon) with 17 main activities.

Bac Giang province wishes to bring visitors the most authentic feelings about the space of Truc Lam Buddhism on the sacred land of Tay Yen Tu through activities such as: Performing poetry and literature of Ly-Tran through calligraphy; the procession of the tablets of the Three Patriarchs of Truc Lam from Vinh Nghiem Pagoda (Yen Dung) to Ha Pagoda, Tay Yen Tu (Son Dong); displaying the tourism product "The Path of Propagating Buddhism of the Patriarchs of Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhism"... Bringing visitors to immerse themselves in the passionate Sloong hao singing of the Tan Son highland Spring Market; with visitors experiencing the lively rituals in the Then Lord worship of the Tay and Nung people at the Huong Son forest opening festival (Lang Giang) and enjoying more natural landscapes of the homeland of Bac Giang.

Besides, organizing activities that interact with members and tourists such as competitions: Tug of War Championship; Bac Giang Province Stick Pushing Championship; Cross-country Mountain Climbing Race to conquer Non Vua Peak....

Before the opening ceremony, there was an opening speech and an art program with the theme “Sacred Tay Yen Tu”. The program lasted 45 minutes, divided into 3 chapters: Origin - Truc Lam Zen sect and the path of propagating Buddhism; Bac Giang - Cultural, historical and tourist destination; Bac Giang - Potential, shining.

Here, the artists and actors brought a unique and attractive art program through the songs: Spiritual path, Tran Nhan Tong spreads the true dharma of the South, On the top of Phu Van, Spring promise, The bell of the season, Come back to Bac Giang, Bac Giang memories shine... The program had the participation of singers who are admired by many audiences such as: Viet Hoan, Thuy Dung, Trung Sy, Viet Danh, Phuong Mai...
