(QNO) - It has become a tradition that the Hung King's death anniversary in Binh Tu commune (Thang Binh) is held in rotation by the villages. This year, the ceremony was held at the Vo clan's ancestral shrine in Pho Thi village with the participation of commune officials and a large number of villagers.
Early this morning, April 28, the senior members and residents of the 6 hamlets were present in large numbers to prepare the offerings to King Hung. The square banh chung cakes were arranged. Each hamlet formed a separate group of about 20 people with flags, flowers, gongs, drums, banners, and slogans. In traditional costumes, they went to the ancestors' altar to offer their offerings.
In addition to officials and people, many local students also participated in the Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony. Nguyen Dinh Thien Lam, a student of class 7/1 at Ly Thuong Kiet Secondary School (Binh Tu Commune), shared: “I am very proud to participate in the ceremony and feel like I am immersed in the festival at Hung Temple in Phu Tho Province. Through the activities at the Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony, I love my national roots even more.”
Mr. Vo Duc Toan - Head of Pho Thi Village Management Board said that the village has been preparing for this Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony for a long time and has assigned specific tasks to each person. Organizing the Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony not only shows deep gratitude to the Hung Kings, but also is an opportunity to demonstrate the solidarity of the people.
The preparation work was carried out carefully by the people of Pho Thi village, from the offering tray to the worshiping ceremony. Everything took place in a solemn and respectful atmosphere. After the worshiping ceremony, the people also reviewed the history of the Hung Kings and heard about the meaning of the Ancestor Commemoration Ceremony.
Mr. Ho Tan Dung - Vice Chairman of Binh Tu Commune People's Committee said that every year the commune organizes the Hung King's death anniversary and it is a unique cultural feature of the locality. "We will continue to maintain this cultural feature. Along with that, we will restore and upgrade cultural relics, communal houses, and ancestors to make places for people to organize the Hung King's death anniversary" - Mr. Dung said.
