At the regular press conference at the headquarters of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee on the afternoon of April 11, to provide information on the province's socio-economic situation in the first quarter, some reporters asked about the handling of the incident of the stone plaque placed at the national relic Nghe Vet, Vinh Hung commune, Vinh Loc district, with the content "Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa".
Responding to a reporter's question, Mr. Dau Thanh Tung - Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee - said that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism must re-examine the entire incident, clarifying whether the stone stele is part of the project to restore and embellish the national relic Nghe Vet or not.
"A relic must of course have a signpost, but who is the investor, which contractor made it, when it was brought in, and what content is recorded.
If we are wrong, we must admit and handle the mistake. Avoid the situation where one side says they are giving, the other side does not admit they are giving.
I request Mr. Do Quang Trong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - to handle and clarify this incident. After that, there will be official information for the press agency" - Mr. Dau Thanh Tung emphasized.
As Tuoi Tre Online reported, over the past few days, social media has been discussing a sign with the words "Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa" placed at the national relic Nghe Vet.
After reviewing the project documents for the restoration and embellishment of the historical and cultural relic of Nghe Vet, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa informed that the signboard with the above inscription was not included in the relic restoration project. This signboard was installed by an individual at the national relic of Nghe Vet many years ago.
On the afternoon of April 7, Vinh Loc district authorities dismantled and moved the signboard "Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa" out of the national relic Nghe Vet, returning space and landscape to the relic.
